Why India

Documented quality

Written specifications and a pre-shipment inspection video support the due-diligence expectations of Canadian procurement teams used to European suppliers, at a materially lower price point.

Competitive pricing

English is the working language for both Ontario and Western Canada, so specifications, manuals and remote support calls proceed without translation delays.

Responsive support

The overlap between Indian Standard Time and Eastern/Pacific time zones allows scheduled video commissioning calls during the Canadian afternoon, which is Indian late evening or night, and this is planned in advance rather than left ad hoc.

Logistics & trade ties

Shipping via Vancouver on the Pacific route is often faster than equivalent European-sourced freight, since it avoids the longer round-the-world routing some European exporters use for Western Canadian deliveries.

Sectors

Canada's demand for cutting and welding capacity concentrates in a handful of manufacturing sectors, most visibly around Windsor, Ontario and Brampton, Ontario.

Export process

  1. 1

    Quotation

Share your material, thickness, bed size or welding requirement and we issue a formal quotation.

  2. 2

    Production

Your machine is assembled, wired and run through factory acceptance checks at our works in India.

  3. 3

    Inspection & freight

A live pre-shipment video inspection precedes export packing and sea freight from Kolkata or Haldia.

  4. 4

    Installation

Remote, video-guided commissioning is followed by an on-site engineer visit for final alignment and checks.

  5. 5

    Training

Operators are trained on safe operation, maintenance and the nesting or welding-program software.

  6. 6

    Warranty & support

Core systems are covered from commissioning, backed by remote diagnostics and stocked wear spares.

Shipping & terms

Cutting and welding machine demand in Canada

Canada's metal fabrication base is concentrated in southern Ontario and the Prairie provinces, supplying the automotive, construction and oil and gas equipment industries. Import demand for fiber laser cutting machines has risen as Ontario job shops upgrade from older cutting systems, while Alberta fabricators serving the energy sector look for heavier-duty machines able to cut thick structural plate.

Canadian buyers are typically price-sensitive relative to their US neighbours, and many compare Indian fiber laser offerings directly against Chinese and Korean imports, so clear technical documentation combined with English-language support gives Indian suppliers a clear edge in vendor evaluation.

Shipping terms and logistics

Sea freight to Vancouver from Kolkata or Haldia typically transships via Colombo or Singapore with an indicative transit of 30–38 days, while Eastern Canada via Montreal or Halifax routes through the Suez Canal with an indicative transit of 35–42 days. Both FOB Kolkata or Delhi and CIF nearest port terms are available. Standard export terms are FOB Kolkata or Delhi / CIF.

Warranty, spares and remote support

Machines carry a 12-month warranty on core systems, backed by remote diagnostic support typically within 4 working hours and stocked wear spares — nozzles, lenses, torch consumables, contact tips and drive rollers — for prompt air-freight dispatch to Canada. Customised extended warranty available on request.

Export orders are quoted on FOB Kolkata or Delhi / CIF terms, with 70% advance with confirmed order, 30% before shipment.

Currency and regulatory notes

Quotations are issued in US dollars for consistency with our export documentation; buyers may arrange conversion to Canadian dollars with their bank at the time of transfer.

Canadian provinces generally expect CSA-marked electrical panels for permanent installation, which we can supply on request, and import duty on industrial machine tools under Canada's tariff schedule is typically low but should be confirmed by the buyer's customs broker.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions — exporting to Canada

Can you quote a machine delivered to a Canadian address?

Yes. Send your cutting thickness, bed size and welding requirements through our enquiry form and we will issue a US-dollar quotation covering FOB Kolkata or Delhi and CIF options to Vancouver, Montreal or Halifax, along with confirmed lead time.

What Incoterms and shipping routes do you use for Canada?

We ship FOB Kolkata or Delhi as standard, with CIF available to your nearest port. Western Canada typically routes via Vancouver on the Pacific corridor, while Eastern Canada routes via the Suez Canal to Montreal or Halifax.

Will the machine work with Canadian industrial voltage?

Our machines can be configured to your facility's incoming supply, whether 600 V, 480 V or 208/240 V 3-phase, and we specify any transformer required as part of the installation package before shipment.

How do you handle installation and training given the distance?

Commissioning begins remotely by video call with our engineering team, and an on-site engineer visit is arranged for final alignment, safety checks and operator training, scheduled around your production calendar.

What warranty applies and how are spares supplied?

Every machine carries a 12-month warranty covering the laser or welding power source, drive and control system. Wear spares such as nozzles, lenses and torch consumables are kept in stock for prompt air-freight dispatch to Canadian addresses.

What payment terms do you offer Canadian buyers?

Standard terms are 30 percent advance with the order and 70 percent against pre-shipment inspection video and shipping documents, settled by wire transfer in US dollars.

How long does production and shipping take?

Production lead time is typically 6 to 8 weeks from confirmed specification and order, and we provide a firm shipping date at order confirmation along with the vessel booking once cargo is ready.

What documents does your customs broker need for import?

We supply a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, sufficient for your broker to classify and clear the shipment under Canada's tariff schedule; any CSA or conformity documentation is confirmed at quotation.
