Why India
Documented quality
Section 301 and related duties on Chinese-origin machine tools do not apply to Indian-manufactured equipment, giving Indian suppliers a landed-cost advantage over Chinese competitors for the same specification.
Competitive pricing
Pricing typically sits well below Trumpf, Bystronic or Amada equivalents, with written specifications and a pre-shipment inspection video that US buyers can present to their own insurers and auditors.
Responsive support
English-language technical documentation, user manuals and engineer communication remove the translation friction common with Chinese and some East Asian suppliers.
Logistics & trade ties
Remote diagnostics scheduled across the time zone gap (India is 9.5 to 13 hours ahead of the continental US) is handled with structured working-hours overlap windows, and an on-site engineer visit can be arranged for installation and commissioning.
Sectors
United States's demand for cutting and welding capacity concentrates in a handful of manufacturing sectors, most visibly around Cleveland, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois.

Shipping & terms
Cutting and welding machine demand in United States
The United States remains the world's largest single market for industrial capital equipment, with metal fabrication job shops, automotive suppliers and heavy equipment manufacturers spread across the Midwest, Southeast and Texas Gulf Coast. Demand for fiber laser cutting and robotic welding capacity has grown steadily as US manufacturers reshore production and small to mid-sized job shops replace ageing cutting systems with fiber laser and modern CNC plasma lines.
Tariff measures on Chinese-origin machine tools have pushed many American buyers to look beyond China for competitively priced fiber laser and welding equipment, and Indian manufacturers offering well-documented, competitively priced machines are increasingly considered a credible middle ground between premium European brands and Chinese suppliers now carrying additional duty exposure.
Shipping terms and logistics
Machines are shipped by sea from Kolkata or Haldia, typically transshipped via Colombo or Singapore, with West Coast transit of roughly 35–45 days and East Coast (via the Suez route) of roughly 30–40 days, both indicative. CIF delivery to the buyer's nearest major port is available alongside standard FOB Kolkata or Delhi terms. Standard export terms are FOB Kolkata or Delhi / CIF.
Warranty, spares and remote support
Machines carry a 12-month warranty on core systems, backed by remote diagnostic support typically within 4 working hours and stocked wear spares — nozzles, lenses, torch consumables, contact tips and drive rollers — for prompt air-freight dispatch to United States. Customised extended warranty available on request.
Export orders are quoted on FOB Kolkata or Delhi / CIF terms, with 70% advance with confirmed order, 30% before shipment.
Currency and regulatory notes
All quotations are invoiced in US dollars; a step-down or step-up transformer is supplied where a facility's incoming supply does not match the machine's rated voltage.
Industrial machine tools are not subject to mandatory UL listing, though some insurers and facilities request NRTL-certified electrical panels, which can be arranged on request; other documentation requirements are confirmed at the quotation stage and import duty on capital machinery under the relevant HTS heading is generally low but should be confirmed with the buyer's customs broker.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions — exporting to United States
How do we get a price for a machine shipped to the US?
Send us your required cutting or welding capacity, material thickness and bed size through the enquiry form and we will issue a formal quotation in US dollars covering FOB Kolkata or Delhi and CIF options to your nearest port, along with lead time and payment terms.
What shipping and Incoterms do you offer to the United States?
We ship FOB Kolkata or Delhi as standard and can arrange CIF to Los Angeles, Savannah, New York or Houston on request. Sea freight transit is indicative and confirmed at booking; air freight is available for urgent spares.
Will the machine run on standard US industrial power?
Our machines can be configured for 480 V 3-phase 60 Hz supply, the US industrial standard. Where a facility runs 208 or 240 V, we specify a suitable step-up transformer as part of the installation package.
How is installation and operator training handled in the US?
Installation begins with remote video-guided commissioning by our engineering team, followed by an on-site engineer visit for final calibration, safety checks and hands-on operator training, scheduled to suit your production calendar.
What warranty and spares support do you provide?
Every machine carries a 12-month warranty on the laser or welding power source, drive and control system. Common wear spares such as nozzles, lenses, protective glass and torch consumables are stocked for fast air-freight dispatch to US addresses.
What are your payment terms for US buyers?
Standard terms are 30 percent advance with the purchase order and 70 percent against pre-shipment inspection video and shipping documents, payable by wire transfer in US dollars.
What is the typical lead time from order to shipment?
Production lead time is typically 6 to 8 weeks from confirmed order and finalised specification, depending on machine configuration and current factory schedule; we confirm an exact date at order confirmation.
What import documents will we receive?
You receive a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and a certificate of origin, which your customs broker can use for HTS classification and clearance; any further documentation your insurer or facility requests is confirmed at quotation.
